This course is designed to develop practical communication skills through collaborative activities, including working with students from overseas partner universities on an Asynchronous Global Understanding (AGU) project. Students will work in small groups with overseas students, using digital platforms. They will exchange views regularly with their group members and work together to produce presentation materials. Each group will choose a topic, explain the situation and challenges in their country, and propose solutions. Through this class, students will be able to do the following activities in English Students will be able to: 1) express their opinions in English using digital platforms, 2) create opportunities to communicate with their overseas partners and carry out group work, and 3) understand the social situation of their overseas partners through collaborating with partners and reading local newspapers.

During class we will also read about and discuss language issues from a social justice perspective.

It is recommended that students take the first-year courses "English I" and "English II" before taking this class.
